CHÂTEAU

Frank Phélan, the second wine of Phélan Segur was first made in 1986. it bears the name of estate funder Bernard Phélan’s sun. Frank Phélan was a man of character, mayor of Saint-Estèphe for 30 years, and like him, this wine grows in its own “terroir” maintaining its identity and specific quality, vintage after vintage. Its personality is due to a blending of fruits coming from parcels of old vines of the property as well as those which remain too young too enter the blending of the first wine. Frank Phelan is surrounded by the same care (culture of the vine, harvest, vinification…) as Château Phelan Segur, to develop a powerful and well balanced wine.

TASTING COMMENTS

Colour: Bright colour deep ruby red with hints of garnet.

Nose : Delightful bouquet with very pure, intense notes of red fruit. These are dominated by aromas of ripe cherries.

Mouth: On the palate, the attack is smooth, developing into a mid-palate coated with remarkably silky tannins. Good density on the finish with flavours reminiscent of the bouquet. This Frank Phelan has a voluptuous character, with great depth, fullbodied tannins and freshness.
